We hope you enjoy this clip from our first fundraiser. Everyone had so much fun!
The JAAF is very pleased to say that our very first fundraising event on August 18th was widely considered to be a huge success with 350 Anime fans in attendance.
We were able to raise over $10,000 in sponsor/donor funds, ticket and merch sales, all of which will go towards our mission of supporting contemporary Japanese culture and arts in the US. Everyone had a great time, and we made so many good friends along the way.
Very special thanks go out to all our friends at Anime Jungle, who offered tremendous assistance by providing our fantastic MC (Tommy Tran) and our esteemed cosplay judges: (Tetsu Shiota, Risa Light and Greg Hignight).
We heard that the pre-show line of our very excited fans started at noon…wow! Here’s a sampling of some of the great costumes and performances we enjoyed during the first part of the event:
The TOP FIVE winners of cash prizes and Anime Expo 2014 passes were (lt to rt)- 5th prize: Melissa Benitez and Megumi Toyama as Fushimi, 4th prize: Mark Todd as Cloud, 3rd prize: Aiyana Jenkin as Luka, 2nd prize: Mario Bueno as Goku, 1st prize: Amy Kiss (lt) as Cutie Honey and Amy Singer (rt) as Cat’s Eye. After a huge raffle giveaway of at least a dozen DBZ DVDs from FUNimation….it was time to get really excited! The crowd was on their feet for EVERY JAM Project song!
We plan to post some short video clips on this blog soon…and you’ll see how much fun we all had raising money for a worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who attended our event!
…Same time next year??
